My full name is Matthew Nicholas Pagan. I was born in the South Bay of CA and starting surfing when I was 10 years old. I played baseball for 9 years of my life until I was 16 and then surfing took over. I am 23 years old now and living my dream! My younger brother Mike (18 years old) is a professional cinematographer and we recently started our own website, displaying our passion and unique bond. Our website is called, one4LA.com and it depicts a perspective on surfing, skating, music and the Los Angeles/South Bay culture through our eyes. It is a hub for our webisodes, a platform to share what goes on in the LA/SouthBay area that relates to our surf and skate culture, as well as a place where we can give back to our community. For more info, please check out our site: one4la.com and/or our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ONE-4-LA/472354676176558?directed_target_id=0
In addition our website, photo trips, etc., I am a competitive professional surfer and my goal is to be on the World Tour. This year is geared to domestic pro am events, movie/webisode trips and the North/South American and Hawaii ASP events, while my goal is to finish high inside the top 96. This will help shape my 2014 season competitively qualifying for the Prime Tour events. With the opportunity to compete on the Prime Tour, 2014 will be geared around those events as well as freesurf/photo trips to keep the tools sharp! From there, within the next 2 years my goal is to qualify and compete on the World Tour. Every year after now, my goal is continue to learn, grow and carry momentum through the star events, onto the Prime Tour, then the World Tour and beyond.
