 STRETCH
The resin that is used on all of the EPS boards is Resin Research Epoxy. This epoxy is the best surfboard specific epoxy resin available! It has excellent strength, elongation, bonding and clarity. Resin Research master mind, Greg Lohr, has the most dedication, expertise and experience in the business and that is why Stretch uses it. Stretch also uses Quad Directional Lamination. This type of lamination has the ability to control flex by orienting cloth fibers in various directions. Arranging the weave on the "bias" enables fiberglass cloth to stretch and mold to a form, creating a very lively and fully integrated flex (spring).
Another signature design feature in the Stretch Surfboard line are the Deck Channels. These Deck Channels are individually hand built into every surfboard. Deck Channels offer tactile grip, comfort, control, and are strategically foiled to moderate board flex. And remember, no one can hand shape EPS blanks like Stretch!
Environmentally Sound Construction
Safe Workplace:
Epoxy has 1/50th the volatile vapors of surfboard polyesters. It is much safer for both the workers and the environment.
No VOCs:
Used correctly, epoxy uses only 40% of the resin used in a polyester laminate. Epoxies have no volatile organic compounds and require no "clean up" solvents, eliminating VOC emissions from the atmosphere.
No CFCs:
EPS foam is produced with clean steam, not chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's). It is non-toxic and totally inert.
Recyclable Material:
EPS is 100% recyclable and Marko uses an extensive recycling system to re-use it's foam for numerous applications. |
