Nike SB can almost trace its roots to the very beginning of Skateboarding. When Skateboarding was first starting to become popular most skaters were reaching for the original Nike Blazer’s as their shoe of choice. Nike hadn’t officially launched into the skateboarding market but its shoes were developing a core following because of the rubber soles, strong fabric and great construction. It wasn’t until 2004 that Nike SB made its official push in the market with the signing of them up and coming skater Paul Rodriguez. They launched the P-Rod in 2005 and it snowballed from there. Things took off and Nike SB became a major player in the Skate Shoe market. Not only did Skaters love them, but their different and interesting colors created an underground following from the shoe collectors. The collectors kept an eye out for Nike’s random releases of limited edition colors and swept them up when they hit the market. Nike SB is committed to continuing to carve out its place in skateboarding.
