Katin is the pioneering surf company known for its durable boardshorts founded in Huntington Beach California by Walter and Nancy Katin in 1959. Katin has kept its core identity and integrity to this day by providing the latest in toughness, technology, and design, staying true to surfers and watermen world wide. Katin continues to represent the heart of surfing by hosting their own world famous event “The Katin Pro Am Team Challenge.” The Event originated in Huntington Beach in 1977, with many famous surfers such as Shaun Tomson, Tom Curren, Martin Potter, Kelly Slater, and current 2009 champion, Brett Simpson and Team Hurley.
