Back in 1986 French footwear company Rautureau Apple started a skateboard shoe company and called it Etnies. It only took a couple of years to be sought out by customers in the United States. When they decided to distribute within the U.S. the brand was referred to as Etnies America. By the mid 90’s the name was shorted to Emerica and has remained the same ever sense. Emerica is known for their basic and unique designs that are made to skate. They’ve assembled a strong team of legendary skaters to push the brand and continue to develop the best shoes in the market.
