It’s that time again, guys: the Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure is back again! Hitting the Huntington Beach Pier hard on June 28th and 29th, the 6.0 Pier Pressure (presented by Jack’s Surfboards) is drawing hopeful junior surfers from around the globe fiending for $20,000 bucks, 1,500 points towards qualifying for the CT, and some great experience surfing unpredictable international waves.
Last year’s Pier Pressure’s top three spots were taken over by our brothers from down under: the Austrailans. But it’s going to be tough for them to defend their victories with plenty of North American talent testing their skill this year. The current Pro Junior champ, Newport’s own Andrew Doheny is hungry to top his previous Pier Pressure’s performance (4th place), along with fellow So Cal settlers Dillon Perillo from Malibu, Breny Reilly from Carlsbad, and 16 year old Luke Davis from Capistrano Beach
Nor Cal’s Cory Arrambide and (fresh off his Arnette All-Day Antics–also sponsored by Jack’s–win) Nat Young will be there to rep Ventura and Santa Cruz, respectively, while a slew of other champs from Hawaii, Florida, and and the rest of the world trying to give each other a run for their money.
Watch out especially for Jack’s Surfboards Team Rider Evan Geiselman, looking to bust through last year’s equal ninth placement in the round of 32. Good look Evan! Jack’s is rooting for you, bro!
The 6.0 Pier Pressure is one of the most adrenaline fueled surf contests out there, so be at the Huntington Beach Pier on the 28th and 29th unless you want to miss out on seeing the best up-and-comers fighting tooth and claw for that coveted top spot!
The Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure Presented By Jack’s Surfboards wants to give thanks to fellow sponsors Hurley, Red Bull, Surfing Magazine, Surfer Magazine, and WaveWatch.
